1047 2nd July, 1941. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/AA.{D. Abbot-Anderson}1/RH.{R. Hollingworth} J.D. Barclay Esq., Messrs. Jack Barclay Ltd., George Street, Hanover Square, L O N D O N. W.1. Dear J.D.B., Re B.174 - JD.{J. Draper - Frames} So sorry to bother you again so soon, but I have had a letter from an old friend of mine, Eric Morris, Pike House, Gong Hill, Farnham, Surrey. He wants to see the above car. I sold him his Bentley in May 1937. It has covered 20,130, and had the usual decarbonisings etc., at Kingsbury. It cost him £1,770 with extras; it is fitted with a standard Park Ward saloon body finished in light grey with blue leather upholstery. It went to Park Ward and was completely repainted just before the war, the boot lid{A. J. Lidsey} got damaged, so rather than risk a different shade of paint, the whole car was done. His driver is an excellent man and I think you will find the car as new, it has been laid up ever since Park Ward did the paint job. He wants £1,550, can you do anything to help him? Drop him a line if you can. I should be most grateful to you. With kind regards, Yours sincerely, | ||
