COPY Bydews Place, Tovil, MAIDSTONE. May 27th. 1921. Arthur M.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} Hanbury, Esq., C/o Messrs. Rolls-Royce, Ltd., 15, Conduit Street, W. Dear Mr. Hanbury, I am quite satisfied with your remarks re gaiters, but I still think an oil retaining gaiter would be best for your present springs, more than 50% of the "Wefco" gaiters will not hold the oil, owing to having too narrow a tongue, the "Wefco" people are making me a pair of gaiters in greyish brown leather to match the car with a one inch wider tongue, which I think will prevent the oil from running out at the bottom, and I myself am fitting oil caps and a wick inside similar to a gaiter sold by "Jeavons", I think the "Wefco" gaiter is certainly the strongest. With regard to my old gaiters which are split, I have not done anything in the matter, that I thought Messrs. Rolls-Royce would do as they supplied the gaiters. I should be obliged if you would get someone to send me the correct adjustment of the platinum points in the low tension contact breaker (or condenser) of my Battery Ignition, on the 'Phone to Conduit St.{Capt. P. R. Strong} today I was told between .020 & .025, yet my chauffeur's notes from Derby reads .014, which is correct? Yours very truly, (Sd) John P. Baron.
