Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}/SMS/C231013. Steering Wobbles. X.457. Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} 23-10-13. Na.{Mr Nadin}c Instructions have been issued to fit a Steering Column with plain thrust bearings on chassis 2486. In view of the fact that this Steering Column has never either been made or tested in any way, and that we have no standardisation signatures authorising us to fit to standard production, do you consider that we are justified in fitting this device to the above car?. These remarks apply equally to the special worm that has been instructed for the above chassis. It would also seem that it would be a physical impossibility to fit these parts seeing that we have been instructed by Paris to despatch this chassis on Thursday next. p.
