To SE. From HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} X4117. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}3/MJ.17.1.30. C.S. EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} 23/1/30. Re. MR. Fairey. Replying to Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}11/E15.1.30. From what we know of Mr. Fairey's conditions, we should say that the car which will satisfy Sir Henry Segrave should be the type of car to suit Mr. Fairey. We find that the chassis allotted to Mr. Fairey (34-GN) will have the low inertia crankshaft damper but will not have the modified brake leverages. The first car to be fitted with these is 74-GN. We should certainly recommend that modified brake leverages are fitted to Mr. Fairey's car. The modifications for the petrol supply will be on that car. As regards the springs, we would prefer to wait until we have had some experience with these before we make any change. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
