Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} Gearbox S.M. Sleeve Rattles. Bentley. Further to HDY.{William Hardy}1/HP.18.6.34, we see that the locating plungers cannot be equidistant from the existing rows of plungers as they will drop into the circumferential grooves in the sleeve when engaging top or 3rd. To avoid this we suggest placing all of the six plungers in one row and the two locating plungers in the row thus left vacant. Only one circumferential groove is now required in the sleeve. Alternatively the central position of the locating plungers may be retained if longitudinal grooves only are used. N. Sch's 4095 and 4101 show these arrangements. Prints are attached to RHC{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer}'s copy. HDY.{William Hardy} | ||
