To EY. from EFC. c. EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} X.4383 EFC1/T30.1.24. X.4383 - DYNAMO FROM 52.S.5. BALFOUR. Regarding this dynamo (No.176), having investigated this machine we consider, as in the case of the immediately previous machine (No.582. GA.39 Neal) that the failure has been due to imperfect bedding of the control brush in the first instance, necessitating an unusually retarded position of same. The subsequent bedding in of the control brush has apparently so increased the output as to cause the dynamo to be overheated. This may have been accentuated by poor bedding of the negative brush. More than this, with reference to the main point, we cannot say. As on the other machine, we again notice minor irregularities such as incorrect brush alignment, etc. We are herewith returning this machine to EY. EFC. | ||
