X6095 NATIONAL ACCUMULATOR COMPANY LIMITED. TELEPHONE: SLOANE 6368. TELEGRAMS: NATIONACCU, SOWEST, LONDON. ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICES: 50, GROSVENOR GARDENS, LONDON, S.W.I. 7th March, 1932. H.E. West, Esq., Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd., DERBY. Dear Mr. West, With reference to our conversation re misfiring at low speeds on 20 H.P. cars, I note that you think you have cured this with the changes that you have made to the coil, ballast resistance, condenser and point springs. I should think very likely you have cured it from what you say. I have had so much argument with R.{Sir Henry Royce} on this point and complained so much to him that I would like to tell him that it is all right if it really is. In the past I have so often heard that it is really right that I am getting a bit sceptical!, but I do think you are now on the right lines. Some time ago the Experimental Department sent me an experimental coil, a ballast resistance, condenser and points to try, which I did and I found they made not the slightest difference. I still have these by me and I wondered whether if I sent them back to you, you could exchange them for what you are now working on and let me try that instead? Yours sincerely, G.R.N. Minchin | ||
