With reference to the discussion held 9/11/36, the following points should be noted:- P.III. (1) Dodd will give me figures for oil consumption thick and thin oil - as soon as possible. (2) Martindale and Gry.{Shadwell Grylls} will decide whether the front roll rod can be fitted to the Continental P.III without impairing water excluders. (3) Ll.Smith will prepare a new clutch plate for Pass' car, and advise me when it is ready. (4) Les.{Ivan A. Leslie} and JBD.{John B. Dixon - Fuel Systems} will let me know what they propose to do to clear up the Arens Control on the P.III. (5) Les.{Ivan A. Leslie} to report what is to be done on frame noise and why no conclusions have been come to one way or the other. (6) Les.{Ivan A. Leslie} to report on the sideways shake on the P.III. (7) Std. to continue with tests to simplify the radiator top tank valve in conjunction with the 4 port cylinder head. (8) Swdl.{Len H. Swindell} to complete work on P.III engine on the test bed which includes:- (1) Optimum timing. (2) Large chokes. (3) Correct ignition advance curve. (4) Loss to manifolds. (5) Elimination of top water pipe. | ||
