The preparation and substitution of parts for a matrix unit destined for France.

Harold Whyman - Experimental Manager} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std.9/AP.1.2.38 With regard to the matrix unit which you are preparing to forward for 20.G.VI. in France, we would like this completed with a minimum of delay since all the pieces are ready. The bottom water outlet is a straight pipe and is intended to be used with a moulded rubber hose bend - such a bend will not be available for some time yet. Will you therefore please make a copper pipe bend as per attached print EXS.459 which can be used temporarily with a straight piece of hose with the above matrix unit - we shall later forward the hose bend and straight pipe when the former is available. When complete we wish to weigh this unit - will you then please forward it to Chateaurouxm together with a special 'Ferogrip' fan belt which we will hand you.
