(7) Popping back and faulty carburation.

It was found on 9-C-111 that the fit of the filter on the carburetter was incorrect. The diametrical fit is sufficiently slack to allow water and dirt to pass. The Works have been instructed that the limits should be strictly observed.

(8) Dynamo.

Steps have been taken to ensure that each dynamo leaves the works with correct brush clearances. If the clearances are below the limit now given, the brushes have been known to become sluggish, due to oil vapour condensation. This will render unnecessary the slip of carborundum proposed, because provided the brushes do not become sluggish, the bedding will not go wrong in correct circuit circumstances.

With regard to the withdrawal of the dynamo end cover, this is provided for in the manner described by Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} in his note to CWB. ref. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}7/LG28.9.25.

(9) Ignition Platinum points.

Experiments are in progress with tungsten points and also with coils with finer primary windings taking less current, to improve the operation of the platinum points. Steps have already been made to improve the replaceability of the distribution box cover, and the improvement is on present production.
