1124. To RHC{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer}/Vs.{J. Vickers} (Iron Foundry) Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/CTS.{C. Trot Salt - Carburation}3/JH.7.9.38. CYLINDER MATERIAL TESTS. 9.8.38. With further reference to your memo. RHC{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer}/Vs.{J. Vickers}1/JJ. Will you please supply suitable cast samples to produce the disc shown on drawing No.HR.638. These are required to be used as test pieces on a friction test machine. If possible, we would like samples of all the materials mentioned in your memo. but we realise the difficulty with the centri-cast type. We would be glad if you can let us know fairly soon, if there is any possibility of getting these discs produced of the same material as all those mentioned in your memo., as the results from the friction tests, may also show just how much better the centri-cast can be.
