K.S. TELEGAUGES.

We are anxious to have a report from you on the K.S. petrol gauge on the cars you are running in France.

One of the sets of conditions under which we expect this gauge to fail is a hot day and a cold night. This is because the hot weather causes vaporisation in the tank and fills the gauge unit with petrol vapour which at night condenses and so gives a false reading. Therefore, if you will carefully check the overnight loss of this gauge whenever you have hot weather it would be of material assistance to us.

We anticipate that the over-night loss will not be more than 1 gallon reading on the gauge i.e., if you put the car away at night the gauge reads 9 galls. in the morning you will apparently have lost one gallon and the gauge will read 8 gallons. No matter how long the gauge is left standing it will not fall below 8 gall, mark - as soon as you have run on the road a few yds. it will pop up to 9 gls.

Should the gauge lose 5 or 6 galls. overnight, the condensation effect we have mentioned above will be taking place. We do not anticipate this trouble. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rn.{Mr Robinson}
