of the Technical Committee and our policy as regards Racing Cars, but the Committee did not agree that Mr Johnson's note correctly stated their opinion as set forth in the minutes. They point out that their objections refer to modifications of the chassis and not body alterations. This they believe to be in accordance with Mr Royce's own opinion. The alterations proposed by Mr Platford concern the arrangement of the chassis and are such that it would be inadvisable to sell a car modified in this way to a customer. The Committee's opinion is that the only alterations which should be made are those which we would be willing to make to a customer's car if it were so desired.
Mr Platford, however, suggested that we should make any alterations to our chassis for this purpose, in order to discover our limit of speed. We should in that event make no secret of the fact that the chassis was not standard. The Committee agreed that we should proceed with the modifications already suggested.

E.2165 Radiator for Sluggard Car.

The Committee agreed that Mr Swetnam should see if it is possible to fit a 30 h.p. radiator at an angle, in order to reduce the windage. The body would project beyond the radiator in the form of a cone.

86th Meeting

Mr Platford informed the Committee that he would like them to inspect the broken parts of this engine, which had failed on the dynamometer.
