There is no doubt that we can rivet on a clip at least equal to that used by Lemoine and the Americans, so that there is no need to continue with either the Woodhead clip, or adopt the Firth-Julien.

DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} sent you yesterday our suggestion of the form this clip should take. This should be made forthwith and fitted to some springs with ordinary plain leaves, and be put on test.

In the meantime I see no reason why Firth's should not prepare the plates in the simple plain form for the next batch of springs, leaving production of the actual clips until we have standardised the design we intend to adopt, or use exactly the same as Lemoine's.
