Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Std.5/JH. 25.6.36.

In parallel with our tests on the rigid Cadillac fan, we wish to run a Rolls-Royce fan which is as similar to the above fan as we can make it. Our present standard Ph.III fan is of same dia. as the Cadillac and with the new pulleys which you are making for us will run at the same speed.

We should like you to alter a standard Ph.III fan flange and blades (or build a new one) so that the blades are the same shape and curvature as those on the Cadillac fan. This will not necessitate much modification, we shall make do with four blades on our fan as against the five of the Cadillac. Further we should like you to make a distance piece to position the tips of the blades of this fan 1 1/2" from radiator matrix.
