Herewith one of the new taper valve springs which was broken on the Test Rig after running 50 hours, ie 3000 miles. No 6 Exhaust. This is one of the new type which, as I demonstrated to you, is not the same as those we have previously tested and which have been satisfactory. In view of this I do not agree that the above valve springs should be adopted as standard until we have further tested same, in view of the fact that they are not the same as those I tested as satisfactory.
