AMERICAN PROGRAMME. X4387

On the 12th.inst. we sent the following cable to Springfield:-
"ARE YOU SATISFIED WITH PILOT JET AND VAPORIZING SCHEME CARS WILL BE SUITABLE FOR WINTER CONDITIONS. WE THINK THEY WILL BE, HAVE YOU SATISFACTORY DESIGNS FOR THIS IF YOU HAVE OUR AGREEMENT".

We received the following reply on the 14th.inst:-
"WITH REFERENCE TO YOUR TELEGRAM 347 HIVES, LATEST PILOT JET AND VAPORIZING SCHEME BEST WE HAVE TRIED, WILL NOT BE SATISFIED GENERALLY UNTIL APPLIED TO AT LEAST 50 CARS UNDER SEVERE WINTER CONDITIONS. HAVE DESIGNS SATISFACTORY GENERALLY ABOVE LIMITATIONS".

We received a further reply on the 27th.inst:-
"WITH REFERENCE TO YOUR TELEGRAM 347, HAVE NOW MADE TWELVE VAPORIZER PIPES AND THOROUGHLY TESTED SMALL PILOT JET ON INDUCTION PIPE, RESULT UNIFORM GOOD. COLD STARTING SEEMS PERFECT AFTER MODIFYING JET OPENING. SATISFIED RESULT BEST SO FAR WRITING". OLLEY.
