X.3067 January 2. 1919. WH. from BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} C. Mr Mills. C. Mr Hives. C. Mr Hall. C. EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} C. EFC. BY11/F211919. CARBURETTERS. X.3067. RE CORROSION OF FLOAT CHAMBERS. X.3484 Kindly carry out some experiments with the above in order to demonstrate whether you can produce the type of corrosion by merely the addition of water to the petrol, which Mr Platford recently illustrated for us in one particular case. Providing you will be able to reproduce the results referred to I consider that you should at once obtain carburetter castings in:- (a) 7% copper alloy. (b) Mr Hall's special alloy, known as "H" metal. If we have no patterns at our works I consider that we should supply ingots of each type of metal to Messrs. Pugh's, in order that they might cast us some experimental carburetters to each type of metal. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} EX. JAN 1 1918 RECEIVED | ||
